Palma de Mallorca

Our first stop on the cruise was Palma de Mallorca, which give me an opportunity to experiment with the 50mm f/2. I love the focal length, but I do find it more restrictive than others. It is a portrait lens at heart, so I probably took more pictures of people on this day, but it did also allow me to get some interesting zooms on details of the church we saw.

Barcelona - Day 3

These were the last images I captured of Barcelona, all with the Fuji 23mm f/2. I would have preferred a zoom lens, but on days where we moved our luggage, the 23mm was far more portable, and so I kept that lens attached to the camera. The XT-2 really helps the colors pop here.

Barcelona - Day 2

We had a chance to hike the mansion to Gaudí house, which has some spectacular views. I don’t think my 18-55mm was wide enough to capture it, but I was able to use the panoramic feature on the XT-2 with some degree of competency.

La Sagrada Familia

Far and away the most photogenic building I have ever visited. I clicked on the 18-55mm kit lens today to give myself options for wider angles that also allowed me to zoom in on some details. Photographs do not do this building justice, but I captured it the best I could. It would literally take months to photograph every detail.

Barcelona - Day 1

Several shots of Barcelona as we explored the city today. I only had my 23mm f/2 on me, but I think I might switch to a different lens tomorrow for La Sagrada Familia to get some wider angles. I was thinking I would carry two lenses on me each day, but the switch is a little difficult, and with the presence of scammers and pickpockets, I like to keep all my stuff zipped as much as possible. All of these are JPEGs out of camera. Black and white were shot with the Acros filter. Most of the color are with the Velvia filter, but I also messed around with some of the advanced filters when I was trying to get the ocean water to pop.

Newark

11 Hour layover in Newark gave me the opportunity to grab a few JPEGs with the Fuji 23mm f/2. Most of these were taken from the backseat of an Uber on the way back to the airport.

New 50mm Lens

I finally saved up enough and purchased the Fuji 50mm f/2 lens. I’m hoping to use it a lot in Europe, but I’ll have some test shots over the next few days as well.

The 1975

These are a series of shots I took at The 1975 concert at Providence Amphitheater. It started to rain during one of the opening acts, and they sent us back out to our cars. We waitied about two hours, but eventually they opened the gates, and The 1975 were on in 3 minutes.

All pictures taken with the Fuji XT-2, 18-55mm kit lens.
